Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using AskDirectly ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Description of Service

AskDirectly is a platform that connects independent Experts with individuals ("Askers") seeking personalized assistance. Experts may monetize their knowledge by responding to questions, while Askers can receive answers for a fee.

AskDirectly does not employ or manage Experts. Experts act as independent service providers.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

Certain features require an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to maintain this information as necessary.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and all activity under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of unauthorized access or breaches.

3.3 Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

4. Expert Responsibilities

Experts agree to:

• Provide accurate, complete, and good-faith responses
• Deliver answers before marking a request as completed
• Comply with all applicable laws in Singapore and internationally
• Not provide illegal, harmful, or misleading information
• Maintain accurate payment and account information
• Maintain an active subscription to accept paid questions

Experts understand that marking a request as complete without delivering the answer may result in withheld earnings, account suspension, or removal from the platform.

5. User Responsibilities (Askers)

Askers agree to:

• Provide accurate information when submitting requests
• Pay the displayed amount once the Expert completes the request
• Not use the Service for illegal or abusive activity
• Respect the intellectual property of Experts
• Avoid submitting threatening, harassing, or unlawful content

6. Payments and Fees

6.1 Payment Processing

All payments are securely processed by Stripe. By using the Service, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

6.2 Subscription Pricing (Experts)

To accept paid questions, Experts must maintain an active subscription:

• $12.99/month, billed through Stripe
• Includes a 14-day free trial for new Experts
• Cancel anytime

Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by Singapore law.

6.3 Transaction Fees

AskDirectly does not charge any platform fee on Expert earnings.

Experts receive 100% of the amount paid by Askers (minus Stripe processing fees).

6.4 Refunds

Refunds are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. AskDirectly may issue refunds where:

• No answer was delivered
• Answers violate platform rules
• Fraud or misuse is detected

We reserve the right to issue or deny refunds at our discretion.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its design, branding, and software are owned by AskDirectly.

Experts retain ownership of their responses. By submitting content, Experts grant AskDirectly a license to:

• Display the content to the relevant Asker
• Store and process the content for operational purposes
• (Where anonymized) use content for quality improvement or marketing

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service:

• For unlawful purposes
• To violate local or international laws
• To infringe intellectual property rights
• To harass, abuse, insult, harm, defame, or discriminate
• To submit false or misleading information
• To upload malicious code or disrupt security
• To collect personal data illegally
• To spam or scrape the Service
• For obscene or immoral activity
• To circumvent payment systems

Violation may result in account suspension or termination.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, without notice, for violating these Terms or engaging in harmful behavior.

You may terminate your account at any time by discontinuing use of the Service or contacting us to request deletion.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no guarantees regarding uptime, performance, accuracy of Expert responses, or error correction.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law:

AskDirectly, its directors, employees, partners, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.

Total liability shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid to AskDirectly in the preceding 12 months.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AskDirectly, its employees, officers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your content or conduct
• Any claims related to Expert answers or Asker submissions

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. If changes are material, we will provide notice at least 30 days before new Terms take effect.

Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by, and interpreted in accordance with, the laws of Singapore.

Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Singapore.
